The University of Utah provides two campus wireless networks: UConnect, a secure network for students, faculty, and staff; and UGuest, an unsecured network for visitors. In addition, the University of Utah is part of the eduroam network, and offers secure wireless access to visitors from other participating institutions.
EAP-TLS (onboard.utah.edu) is the best way to configure your device to connect to the network. Simply visit onboard.utah.edu and follow the instructions to connect. Configuration details for manually setting up a device are available on the final download page, under "Show all Operating Systems > Other Operating Systems."
For assistance connecting to the wireless network, contact the Campus Help Desk at 801-581-4000.
Users can visit setup.utah.edu/UConnect as an alternate way to connect to the network. Note: this is a legacy method and NOT RECOMMENDED for security reasons.
A variety of instructions and support resources for different devices and operating systems are available online:
|Windows Vista||Mac iOS for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch|
|Windows 7||Mac OS X Snow Leopard|
|Windows 8||Mac OS X Lion|
|Mac OS X Mountain Lion|
|Google Android||Mac OS X Mavericks|
|Mac OS X Yosemite|
Many "crowd-source" solutions can be discovered by searching "wireless configuration" and a product name. Users may also consult with their wireless carriers and product manuals for configuration instructions.
